No good deed goes unpunished, or so goes the saying. A paralyzed woman is suing a former co-worker for moving her from a car accident
Lisa Torti, the victim, who is being sued for pulling a now-paralyzed friend from the wreckage of a Los Angeles car accident in 2004 is now in the fight of her life over possibly ruining her life having to pay millions in a law suit due to her selflessness behavior. Only in America (and Germany) can you sue someone for saving your life. In the great state of California, a good Samaritan can be sued. This is exactly the reason I’ve been saying for years, DO NOT HELP other people when severe injury or death may result. They can turn against you as Ms. Van Horn did after the incident. This yahoo video shows some USC asshole named Jody David Armour saying “...the problem is you can’t be careless when helping someone…“ OHHH I’m sorry… I guess the rising water that’s drowning you isn’t much of a concern…or the fire that’s about to explode your car. Let me take the time to ensure that you feel as comfortable as possible during your ordeal. Do you have a pillow? Are you feet warm?
The victim’s lawyers claim the Good Samaritan bumbled the rescue and caused injury to Van Horn by yanking her “like a rag doll” to safety. I love the “rag doll” comment. Again, lawyers are the very problem with this country. They paint a very inaccurate picture most times to win. I’m sure if someone’s car was on fire and about to explode, you’d be hard pressed to find someone taking the delicate time to decide how they should remove someone from the car. Jody David Amour goes on to say that the lady would have been better off waiting… WAITING!!!... Wait, I gotta repeat that because it’s so ridiculous it almost doesn’t seem real. He said she’d be better of WAITING until some professional came along. I don’t know about you, but I take that at face value. I will NEVER help anyone in such a case. And I’ll quote this man, saying I feared legal retaliation and according to this man the victims are better off waiting for professional help anyway. This has been my viewpoint for years now when even back then I heard of a similar case against someone helping another human being in peril. I am glad this lady has to now spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair if this is how she really is. What an ugly nasty bitch. And she really did get what she deserves. Our universe has a way of correcting those who need to be corrected. Seems to me Van Horn has some learning to do. Probably in the area of patience and being thankful as she now has to live in a wheelchair for the rest of her life.
So we can’t be good decent human beings and save one another in life/death situations… NOOOOO because of this bitch and others like her, we all have to worry about civil action—some kind of court ruling. Well, not me and you can count on that. And believe me, I sleep well at night knowing that I will never go to prison or be sued for helping some stranger.
In fact, only Medical Workers on duty are immune from this type of problem. The court ruled 4-3 that only those administering medical care have legal immunity, but not those like Torti, who merely take rescue action. The justices said that the perceived danger to Van Horn in the wrecked car was not “medical.“

Thanks to the Internet I can now see how hockey rinks are made. This process has always fascinated me. It’s funny to see how much of this is a manual process… like painting the lines!

This is an error I came across the other day on a website. I mean these people really got it down. They nailed rule number one of error messages: tell the user what went wrong. I mean this says it all folks.

The ole Google mobile street view camera system. Unless you’ve been in a cave for the past year or so you’ve noticed the improved google map “street view” feature. Where available, now instead of zooming in to a couple thousand feet above your desired target, you can actually see the street view of the area you’re in. On Google Maps’ Street View, you can see landmarks when you’re getting directions, check out parking possibilities around the restaurant you were heading for and virtually stroll down the street of the neighborhood where you’re thinking about buying. On the other hand, that photo showing your curbside recycling bin, overflowing with beer bottles the day after your Super Bowl party, is the enduring image of life at your house for anyone who looks up your address. This is the 360°digital camera head that captures still images for Google Maps - street view photographs. In order to produce the imagery for the service Google mounts a special panoramic camera on a pole on top of the roof of a vehicle. Then, the car simply drives around town capturing the imagery as it goes.

Google Street View has been catching people unawares, sunbathing, sidling out of nudie bars or as I like to call it: “The Viet Nudie,“ and loafing on the job. One site said it best, “But the quiet toilers who seek no glory for their selfless efforts are coming into their own as the camera snaps away.
I think this is great but it bothers some because of privacy issues. But my question is how do you expect privacy in public. No such thing so for now their demands to end this program are falling on deaf ears. The fact is this camera catches nothing more than you can see by standing on a street. Some just don’t like it because it immortalizes you on the internet if you’re caught acting stupid. Take for instance these girls.

They probably don’t even know they’re on the net for all to see. Of course I doubt they care… or the ladies who flash the camera resulting in the image removed from that part of the street. But what about these people:
I think it’s a great idea myself. It’s helped me and others I know find locations without having to visit them, or if we did then we were already familiar with the area.. And to those who have an issue with this initiative: if you’re so concerned about privacy… then do your PRIVATE things IN PRIVATE, not where any person can see you. You’re on a public street, or in view of the public; nothing’s private there, so stop complaining.
I guess the people who are worried are the ones selling crack on the streets of Chicago:
